• The Northern Road Upgrade; Western Sydney NSW

  The Northern Road Upgrade is part of the Australian and NSW governments’ commitment to foster positive growth in western Sydney through the development of growth centres, employment areas and integrated road transport solutions.  The Northern Road is a key north-south arterial link between Richmond Road, Bligh Park and Camden Valley Way, Narellan, and connects the North West Growth Area, Western Sydney Airport Growth Area and South West Growth Area.

  PDC Consultants was engaged to undertake SIDRA Intersection traffic modelling of the M4 Motorway On / Off ramps at The Northern Road.  The traffic modelling was undertaken to assess the impact of various lane reconfigurations to facilitate construction of the intersection upgrade.  This study included collection and analysis of traffic turn count, queue length and Automatic Traffic Counter (ATC) data.

• Improving Access to National Parks Program; Blue Mountains National Park NSW

  NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services (NPWS) Blue Mountains Branch has obtained NSW Treasury funding to undertake upgrade works to high-volume visitor precincts.  The upgrade works are part of the NSW Government’s policy directive of the Improving Access to National Parks Program. The Blue Mountains National Park contains a number of high-visitation precincts including Wentworth Falls and the Conservation Hut. 

  PDC Consultants was engaged to provide design advice relating to the car and bus parking layouts at the Wentworth Falls and Conservation Hut precincts.  The objective of this study was to maximise parking provision, improve safety and efficiency for all users and ensure that any recommendations are sympathetic to the environment noting these precincts are situated within the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains National Park.

• South Coast Correctional Centre; Nowra NSW

  The South Coast Correctional Centre expansion comprises of an additional 360-beds including a new 160-bed maximum-security wing and 200-bed minimum-security wing.  PDC’s Director was engaged to prepare a Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) report for the planning application.  The TIA included SIDRA Intersection traffic modelling of nearby intersections to assess the traffic impact of the proposed expansion on the external road network.
