Delivering Amazon to Sydney
Amazon’s first fulfilment centre in Sydney. The 43,000 m2 facility located within Centenary Distribution Centre in Moorebank, is owned and managed by Australia’s largest industrial property developer, Goodman. The Moorebank facility would add to the capabilities of their first 24,000 m2 warehouse in Melbourne’s Dandenong South, which opened in December 2017. The Moorebank facility would allow Amazon to handle future customer demand and speed up delivery to customers across the country.
Traffic assessment and modelling expertise
Due to continued growth and customer demand, PDC Consultants was engaged to prepare a Transport Impact Assessment (TIA) to support a Development Application (DA) for expansion to the facility. The TIA included SIDRA Intersection traffic modelling to assess the performance of key intersections in the vicinity of the site under the DA.
Addressing parking needs and safe design
Our assessment also involved preparation of a car parking audit for the site. This included the preparation of Traffic Management Plan (TMP) drawings showing our recommendations to improve wayfinding, safety and efficiency of the car park and loading dock areas.
